Da Compreensão Materialista e Dialética das Relações Ecológicas ao Conceito de Desenvolvimento Sustentável

A natureza, ao longo do tempo, vem sendo depredada por uma lógica de produção e consumo que conduz à exploração da força de trabalho e ao desperdício dos recursos naturais. Este artigo, a partir da concepção materialista e dialética da natureza, aborda a polêmica discussão sobre desenvolvimento e proteção ambiental, buscando demonstrar que a questão ecológica não é antropocentrismo versus ecocentrismo, mas co-evolução e desenvolvimento sustentável. Além de examinar as teses filosóficas materialistas que, enraizadas nos pensadores do Renascimento, desde o século XIX, fundamentam o debate ecológico, o texto apresenta a mudança do modelo atual de desenvolvimento como medida indispensável para assegurar a produção de riquezas com geração de empregos, valorização do trabalho e preservação ambiental.
