Pequenos agricultores-comerciantes da Serra do Botucaraí: vida rural, comércio e dinâmica cultural no centro-norte do Rio Grande do Sul

O artigo discute sobre a relação entre tradição e práticas mercantis de pequenos agricultores-comerciantes na Serra do Botucaraí, analisando algumas estratégias de produção e marketing em torno do “produto colonial” e artesanal como fatores de otimização nas vendas diretas ao consumidor, buscando compreender os processos que viabilizam a reprodução camponesa através do horizonte mercantil e de identidade étnico-territorial. Além de uma revisão de literatura em torno de aspectos ligados à economia da tradição, a qual envolve sociabilidades técnicas, construção social de mercados e cultura social, o trabalho envolveu pesquisa de campo, privilegiando-se observações e contatos diretos com as pessoas e entrevistas com questões abertas. Percebeu-se que o grupo social estudado dinamiza seu horizonte mercantil, reproduzindo saberes históricos e culturais. Estes elementos mercantis estão ligados à memória do grupo e passam a ser re-significados e valorizados em múltiplos aspectos.Downloads
