Abstract

The main objective of the research was to analyze the process of participatory construction and use of indicators for socioenvironmental characterization of native fruit species as a methodological reference for other agroecological processes. Its justification is based on the urgency of rescuing and promoting a plant domestication process that promotes sociobiodiversity. The public was composed of six groups of farmers from the Luta Camponesa Nucleus, located in the south central region of Paraná State. The method used principles of action research. As a result, the selection and socio-environmental characterization of seven priority native fruit species stands out, as well as the construction of the main limits and opportunities for the valorization of these species. In addition, the research presents three fundamental lessons for agroecological processes and practices in other territories: avoid specialization and build processes that function as an interdependent continuum; valuing the participation and knowledge of the farmers involved in the process through knowledge dialogue; and prioritize actions that give materiality to change the scenario based on available conditions.

Graduado em Engenharia Agronômica pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (1994), com mestrado em Recursos Genéticos Vegetais pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2001-2003) e doutorado em Ciências (área de concentração em Recursos Genéticos Vegetais), também pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2006-2009). Como extensionista, atuou em diferentes projetos de assistência técnica em agroecologia, junto a agricultores familiares. Tem 15 anos de experiência como professor universitário, especialmente em disciplinas relacionadas à gestão ambiental. A partir de 2002, foi analista ambiental do IBAMA e, desde 2007, é analista ambiental do Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade (ICMBio). Neste período, foi gestor do Escritório Regional do IBAMA em Caçador/SC, gestor da Floresta Nacional de Caçador/SC, Gerente Executivo do IBAMA em Santa Catarina e gestor da Floresta Nacional do Açungui/PR. Desde 2013, é lotado no Centro Nacional de Pesquisa e Conservação da Biodiversidade Marinha do Sudeste e Sul (CEPSUL/ICMBio), em Itajaí/SC. É instrutor de cursos na área de gestão socioambiental e de pesquisa e monitoramento participativo, instituídos no âmbito do ICMBio. Tem desenvolvido projetos de pesquisa e monitoramento participativo junto à comunidades de agricultores e de pescadores, com foco em sistemas agroflorestais, em manejo florestal sustentável, em recuperação de ecossistemas e em manejo de recursos pesqueiros.
