Abstract

The models most used in agricultural research are not capable of representing non-linearity and the time-dependent nature of the relationships that support the agrifood system. Therefore, in this article, we propose to develop a bibliometric analysis based on pattern recognition, through publications in peer-reviewed journals, with a focus on Community-supported agriculture (CSA). Thus, using a Web of Science data set, we applied semantic citation/quotation metrics to analyze publications from 1997 to 2019. The publications were identified by applying a specific keyword filter to the search. Then, we compare the approaches that appear in the literature, the number of publications and citations by scientific journals; we identified the main authors and journals, their frequency, the impact factor and citations; and finally, we observe the trend over time. Whit the aid of the VOSviewer software, the analysis revealed three major themes – motivations, process, context – with high potential and future research perspectives. The results generated, based on recent and more prestigious studies, point to an increasing trend of studies in this area, in matters such as proximity and cooperation networks, alternative systems and sustainable development.
