Implicações da Apropriação da Categoria "Agricultura Familiar" na Trajetória da Organização dos Agricultores do Alto Uruguai do RS

Este artigo objetiva discutir a questão do potencial dos movimentos sociais na renovação da sociedade a partir do caso do movimento dos agricultores na região do Alto Uruguai do Rio Grande do Sul. Parte-se do suposto de que para melhor compreender o potencial renovador do movimento torna-se necessário contextualizar, inicialmente, o processo de formação de sua identidade coletiva, revelando as múltiplas determinações que nele se manifestam. Para isso, atém-se especificamente aos processos de formação da identidade da “agricultura familiar”, de
positivação deste modo de agricultura e a diferenciação identitária com relação a outros movimentos atuantes na região do Alto Uruguai. A análise deste caso é particularmente reveladora de como um movimento de agricultores consegue transformar sua forma de inserção social e o modo como é reconhecido socialmente (positivação) e manter, ao mesmo tempo, inalteradas algumas práticas e concepções conservadoras, características das “antigas colônias de imigrantes”.Downloads
