Estilo de vida de professores do ensino básico antes e durante a pandemia de COVID-19

Resumo

A pandemia de COVID-19 vem acarretando mudanças substanciais no comportamento da população e em desfechos de saúde. O objetivo do estudo foi analisar as tendências temporais de um conjunto de condutas de risco do estilo de vida autorrelatadas por professores do ensino básico de escolas públicas da cidade de Curitiba, Paraná, antes e durante o autoconfinamento imposto pela pandemia de COVID-19. Trata-se de um estudo observacional em que duas amostras de professores do ensino básico responderam questionário padronizado de autorrelato com itens sobre atividade física, tempo de tela, duração de sono, consumo de frutas/hortaliças, uso de tabaco e bebida alcoólica. Uma amostra respondeu as questões em período não-pandêmico (n = 376) e a outra amostra respondeu as questões um ano após início da pandemia (n = 294). Os achados sugerem que a pandemia de COVID-19 impulsionou fortemente alterações nas condutas de risco do estilo de vida, incluindo inatividade física, tempo excessivo de tela, duração insuficiente de sono, ingestão inadequada de frutas/hortaliças e consumo abusivo de bebida alcoólica. No período pandêmico a chance de maior exposição para inatividade física (OR = 2,07 [1,40 – 3,01]) e duração insuficiente de sono (OR = 2,19 [1,39 – 3,46]) mais que dobrou e, no caso do tempo excessivo de tela (OR = 2,99 [2,02 – 4,36]), triplicou em comparação com o período pré-pandêmico. Concluindo, ações de intervenção devem ser orientadas em uma perspectiva ampla e abrangente de educação em saúde, que atendam as condições de isolamento/distanciamento social dos docentes e da população em geral.
