Cenário de Evidências Científicas Sobre o Sofrimento Mental de Pessoas Transgênero

Resumo

Objetivo: Mapear a produção científica sobre o sofrimento mental em pessoas transgêneros. Método: Realizou-se uma Revisão de Escopo pautada nas etapas do Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI), seguindo as recomendações do Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (Prisma-ScR). Foram considerados como critérios de inclusão: estudos com textos disponíveis para acesso público, publicados entre 2012 e 2022, em formato de artigo, com idiomas em inglês, espanhol ou português. As fontes de informação utilizadas foram BVS, Web of Science e CINAHL via Portal da Capes, Scielo e Scopus, com os descritores “angústia psicológica”, “pessoas transgêneros”, “psychological distress” e “transgender persons”, entre agosto e outubro de 2022. Os dados foram analisados por meio de estatística descritiva e a síntese desta análise foi organizada pela similaridade das temáticas. Resultados: Foram incluídos 24 artigos nesta revisão. Com a finalidade de agrupar informações relevantes foram destacadas três categorias principais: “Incidência do sofrimento mental”, que evidencia os índices desse sofrimento; “Discriminação e estigmas”, que apresenta a complexidade e as consequências negativas da discriminação; e “Impactos do acesso aos serviços de saúde”, que retrata a adversidade, na qual os indivíduos transgêneros não conseguem usufruir dos seus direitos dentro dos diferentes níveis de atenção à saúde. Conclusão: Evidencia-se altos índices de sofrimento mental em pessoas transgêneros quando comparadas às cisgêneras, relacionados à discriminação, preconceito, estigmas, falta de apoio social e familiar e acesso aos serviços de saúde.
