Abstract

Political polarization has increasingly figured in people's daily lives, and because it has a great impact on the functioning of society, it has become a social and economic problem. The election of a new president aligned with right-wing ideals after a long period of left-wing governments has further eased into the debate. Moreover, this conjuncture helped in the emergence of some characters that stood out in this scenario of political transition, as was the case of the Brazilian business class, closely linked to the capitalist system. Therefore, the present study aimed to identify the perception of the population about capitalism, government and the figure of the entrepreneur in the Brazilian scenario. Therefore, a descriptive research was conducted, with a quantitative approach, operationalized through a survey with 534 respondents. Univariate and bivariate statistical techniques were used for data analysis. The main results elucidated that, in relation to the characterization of the sample, most respondents are up to 37 years old and are female, have higher education and family income of up to 6 minimum wages. In addition, it was found that there is no significance in the difference between gender, education, income and ethnicgroups in relation to the perceptions studied, but there is significance in the relationship of religion and state, marital status and perception of entrepreneurs. Finally, it was observed that the variable that most correlates with others is religion, having a direct relationship with gender, marital status and the ethnicity of the respondents.
