Abstract

Environmental awareness and sustainable consumption are important in the intention to purchase remanufactured Smartphones, since the amount of toxic waste produced by inadequate disposal of electronic devices has become a problem, given that they have heavy metals, which cause damage to the environment and the health of the population. In this context, the study aims to analyze environmental awareness, sustainable consumption and the purchase intention of remanufactured Smartphone. The methodology used was a quantitative and descriptive research, through a survey applied in the northeast region of Brazil, with the use of confirmatory factor analysis to validate the observable variables and the research constructs. The results highlight that consumers are awakening to environmental awareness, building new sustainable consumption habits, through the intention of buying remanufactured smartphones, which bring less negative impacts to the environment, becoming one of the variables included in the analysis of the risk perceived by the buyer.
