Caracterização dos Viveiros Florestais de Viçosa - MG: um Estudo Exploratório

Este estudo teve o objetivo de caracterizar os viveiros florestais na cidade de Viçosa, Minas Gerais, sinalizando suas principais demandas e sua a importância para as comunidades nas quais se inserem. Os dados primários utilizados neste estudo foram obtidos através de entrevistas com os proprietários e colaboradores dos viveiros. Os principais resultados mostram que 260 pessoas dependem diretamente dos viveiros. Quanto à receita gerada, constatou-se que foram envolvidos quase 1 milhão de reais na comercialização de aproximadamente 2,5 milhões de mudas produzidas. Outro fator que mereceu destaque foi o nível de escolaridade dos colaboradores; 74% estudaram até o ensino fundamental, sendo que 54% não o concluíram. Por fim, o presente trabalho demonstrou a necessidade destes empreendimentos e a importância social, econômica e ambiental dos mesmos para a comunidade local.
