Sustentabilidade rural no Semiárido Cearense: uma aproximação social, biofísica e microeconômica em comunidades rurais

Abstract

Seis comunidades rurais semiáridas cearenses foram analisadas em relação a indicadores sociológicos, biofísicos e microeconômicos de sustentabilidade. Apenas uma se evidenciou sustentável em relação a todas as variáveis estudadas porque é a que pratica a agricultura mais diversificada e plural, combinando cultivos cerealistas, forrageiros, horta e pomar com pecuária de pequenos ruminantes laborados por mão de obra exclusivamente familiar. Mesmo dispondo de uma das menores superfícies totais sua capacidade  de diversificação agrícola e pecuária se viabilizou. Nela encontram-se as unidades rurais de mais recente assentamento geridas por titulares de idade intermediária com o segundo maior número de sucessores e seus resultados microeconômicos indicam a reprodução ampliada de seus meios produtivos.
