Controvérsias monetárias no Brasil imperial e suas influências na formação do pensamento desenvolvimentista brasileiro

No decorrer do século XIX, o debate monetário brasileiro envolveu as principais lideranças da burocracia imperial, assim como por parlamentares e intelectuais. Opondo metalistas e papelistas, a contenda nacional foi fortemente influenciada pela realidade política que se observava na Inglaterra. A relevância do papelismo nas origens do pensamento desenvolvimentista brasileiro evidencia a tropicalização das ideias econômicas importadas da Europa. Nesse sentido, este artigo procura resgatar as principais questões que circunscreveu o referido debate, bem como a relevância das ideias e políticas papelistas para a formação do nacional-desenvolvimentismo.Downloads
