Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the Institutional Development Plan (PDI) of three Community Universities in the southern region of Brazil and the management of Integrated Marketing Communication (CIM) in the online environment. The research was carried out based on the exploratory method, following the premises of the narrative and qualitative approach, through structured interviews with managers of the investigated universities, based on the model of Gurau (2008), which proposes three steps for the adaptation of the messages online: corporate values, strategic and tactical objectives of communication, as well as customization. The investigation corroborated the corporate values and also presented discrepancies of findings in relation to strategies and tactics of communication and customization. Also, he added new perspectives to the CIM process in the online environment of universities, emphasizing the importance of internal communication as a management support tool.
