Epidemiological profile of the disease of the new coronavirus in the interior of Mato Grosso

Objective: to analyze the epidemiological profile of the disease of the new coronavirus in the municipality of Pontal do Araguaia, Mato Grosso. Method: descriptive and retrospective epidemiological study, using secondary data for the period from April 17 to October 23, 2020. Results: in the of interval epidemiological weeks 288 cases were confirmed, of which 52.4% were women, aged between 30 and 39 years (24.7%). 92.36% of the patients had symptoms, predominantly coughing (51%), comorbidities were associated in only 8%, most of whom had diabetes mellitus and hospitalization occurred in 10% of cases. Regarding deaths, most were women with an average age of 74 years. The municipality had a recovery rate of 96.18% and 2.4% lethality. Conclusion: primary health care has been able to sustain the necessary care to control the transmission of the new coronavirus in the municipality studied.
