Comparação de Efeitos de Acetato de Dexametasona Sobre os Parâmetros Gravimétricos de Timo e Baço nas Ratas Adultas

O efeito timolítico de glicocorticóides é bem conhecido e faz parte de ação imunossupressiva destes fármacos. Porém, o uso de bioensaio timolítico de glicocorticóides nas aulas práticas de farmacodinâmica pode enfrentar certas dificuldades, devido a diminuição drástica do timo nos grupos de animaistratados com altas doses de glicocorticóide. Portanto, pesquisou-se a possibilidade de avaliação em paralelo da influência de acetato de dexametasona (DMA) sobre o timo e o baço de ratas. Em geral, DMA diminuiu significativamente
(P < 0,05) os pesos seco e absoluto do timo já nas doses de 0,2 e 0,5 mg/Kg do peso corporal. Entretanto, para diminuição significativa dos pesos absoluto e seco do baço foram necessárias as doses maiores de DMA: 1 e 2 mg/Kg. Como regra, DMA não alterou significativamente a relação peso seco/
absoluto de ambos os órgãos avaliados. Concluindo, a medição paralela dos pesos de timo e baço resultou em diminuição de possibilidades de erros nos grupos de animais tratados com grandes doses de glicocorticóide no bioensaio
timolítico.
