CARACTERIZAÇÃO DAS VÍTIMAS DE TRAUMA ATENDIDAS EM EMERGÊNCIA HOSPITALAR NO NORTE DO ESTADO DO RIO GRANDE DO SUL

Abstract

Estudo quantitativo, descritivo e exploratório que busca caracterizar os tipos de politraumatizados atendidos em emergência hospitalar. Os dados foram coletados no período de janeiro/junho 2004. Procurou-se coletar dados referentes a gênero, faixa etária, ocorrência de acidente, áreas traumatizadas e evolução clínica dos pacientes. Trabalhou-se com 344 casos. Os dados mostraram o predomínio de pessoas do sexo masculino nos politraumatizados com um percentual de 74,42%. A faixa etária mais envolvida em acidentes automobilísticos é a dos 21-30 anos, seguido dos 11-20, e em terceiro dos 31-40 anos. As ocorrências de acidentes
relacionam-se a colisões, quedas, atropelamento e outras situações. As áreas traumatizadas correspondem às seguintes: crânio, tórax, coluna, abdome, extremidades e múltiplas localizações. Na observação quanto à evolução clínica percebeu-se que a grande maioria constituía-se de traumas leves, com avaliação, observação e posterior liberação dos indivíduos.
