O PAPEL DA FAMÍLIA NO TRATAMENTO DO ALCOOLISMO: a Visão do Paciente

Abstract

A família tem papel fundamental no tratamento de todas as
doenças mentais, não sendo diferente com o alcoolismo. Este
estudo objetivou identificar a visão do paciente quanto ao papel da família em seu tratamento. A investigação apresentou uma abordagem qualitativa, na qual se utilizou como instrumento uma entrevista semi-estruturada. A coleta de dados foi realizada em uma instituição psiquiátrica de médio porte situada no interior do Rio Grande do Sul e foram entrevistados seis pacientes. Os dados foram analisados obtendo-se três temas: relação sujeito-familiar, papel da família no tratamento do alcoolismo, pensamento da família a respeito do alcoolismo: a visão do paciente. Os resultados
revelaram que a família é vista pelo alcoolista como a base
para a recuperação de sua doença atuando no sentido da busca de soluções e atividades para que haja uma maior ocupação e equilíbrio diário. Em vista disso acreditamos que a presença dos familiares tem vital importância na recuperação do dependente de álcool.
