AMBIENTE ASILAR: Única Opção de Moradia

A pesquisa busca apreender sentimentos e percepções de idosos que vivem em uma instituição asilar. Pesquisa qualitativa, descritiva, na qual participaram 10 idosos residentes em uma instituição de longa permanência de ummunicípio da região noroeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul/Brasil. Para a coleta de dados utilizou-se entrevista
aberta, com a seguinte questão norteadora: Conte-me, como é pra você residir nesta instituição asilar? Projeto aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da Unijuí (no 019/2011). Dos depoimentos emergiu uma categoria analítica que versa sobre a forma como os idosos percebem o ambiente asilar – única opção de moradia. Os resultados obtidos podem despertar o interesse de profissionais da saúde para desenvolver ações que visem a melhoria da qualidade de vida de idosos institucionalizados.
