QUANDO UMA MÁQUINA MANTÉM A VIDA: O Itinerário do Idoso Renal Crônico em Hemodiálise

Objetivo: Identificar as repercussões da dependência de uma máquina de hemodiálise para o ser idoso e compreendercomo o paciente em hemodiálise vê a sua condição de doente crônico. Metodologia: Estudo quali-quantitativodesenvolvido com 60 pacientes em tratamento hemodialítico a mais de seis meses em dois hospitais no norte do RioGrande do Sul. Resultados: Foram entrevistados 60 indivíduos com idade entre 60 a 85 anos. O sexo masculinoprevaleceu. A maioria das respostas mostram que o início da TRS está relacionado a sentimentos negativos, porémapós um período de tratamento respostas elucidaram representação positiva. Conclusão: Estudo demonstra que oimpacto inicial do tratamento da doença renal crônica é significativo. A dependência da máquina de hemodiálise trazconsigo várias limitações, porém, a percepção do vínculo tecnológico e profissional é visto como essencial para asobrevida.Downloads
