Suicídios e tentativas de suicídio em mães de crianças com deficiência: uma revisão integrativa

Resumo

Objetivo: reunir evidências científicas sobre tentativas de suicídio e suicídios de mães de crianças com deficiência. Método: foi realizada uma revisão integrativa da literatura em cinco bases de dados, utilizando a pergunta de pesquisa: “Quais são as evidências científicas sobre a tentativa de suicídio e o suicídio de mães de crianças com deficiência?” Para isso, foram utilizados os descritores “Mothers”, “Suicide”, “Attempted Suicide”, “Suicide Attempt”, “Children with Disabilities” e “Disabled Children”. Foram incluídos quatro estudos de nacionalidades diferentes, publicados entre 2018 e 2024. A análise crítica e a síntese qualitativa dos estudos selecionados foram realizadas de forma descritiva e organizadas em duas categorias. Resultados: as mães de crianças com deficiência enfrentam altos níveis de estresse e depressão, agravados pela marginalização e pela falta de apoio. A transição para a adolescência dos filhos intensifica essa carga emocional. É fundamental oferecer suporte psicológico e recursos práticos para melhorar sua qualidade de vida. O suporte psicológico, financeiro e as redes de apoio são essenciais para reduzir o estresse. Considerações finais: garantir acesso a serviços de saúde e condições de trabalho flexíveis, além de incluir as famílias na formulação de políticas, pode melhorar a qualidade de vida dessas famílias e promover uma sociedade mais inclusiva.
