LA DERIVA DE LA DEMOCRACIA: AFIRMACIONES Y DILEMAS DEL TERCER SECTOR EN AMÉRICA LATINA

Las cuestiones fundamentales en torno al tercer sector dicen respecto a su definición ético-política, constituyendo un vacío que impide el avanzo de la discusión técnica y estratégica. El tercer sector se define por la ética de la reciprocidad, considerando sus responsabilidades sociales en contrapartida a los derechos, por la ética de la cooperación, expresa en acciones transformativas colectivas por medio de los movimientos sociales, y por la ética de la generosidad y del altruismo, que integra una súper ética que media las relaciones sociales y las relaciones humanas con los ecosistemas. El tercer sector promueve los derechos del individuo a la participación y a la construcción de un estilo de vida asociado a valores como el respeto a los otros, a la compasión y a la solidaridad.
