Abstract

 

ABSTRACT:

This article discusses the work-training relationship of social educators who work in the urban peripheries of Porto Alegre - RS. We present the categories popular educator and social educator and about the educational spaces of Non-School Education. The categories are contextualized historically-politically, making use of participant research. In addition, we stress the importance of social movements in the perspective of Popular Education, articulating the themes of education and Social Work.

Fernanda dos Santos Paulo, UNOESC e AEPPA

PhD in Education from the University of Vale dos Sinos / Unisinos Rio, Capes Scholarship - Proex (2014-2018). Master in Education from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul / UFRGS, Bosista CNPq (2012-2013). Specialist in Popular Education: Management of Social Movements by Brava Gente and Instituto IVOTI (2007-2010). Graduated in Pedagogy from the Centro Universitário Metodista / IPA (2006-2008). Normal course at the middle level - Teaching. Popular Educator at the Association of Popular Educators of Porto Alegre / AEPPA and coordinator of the Political Training Center and the Working Group on the Construction of Proposals for Extension, Graduation and Specialization Courses for Popular Educators. Professor of the Institute of Social Development Brava Gente in partnership with the Faculdade Santo Augusto / FAISA, acting in the courses of Specialization and Extension. Teaching Assistant at Uniasselvi / IERGS in the course of Pedagogy. Professor of the Post-Graduation Program in Education at UNOESC. Member of the Research Group: "Pedagogical Mediation and Citizenship", at UNISINOS. Has experience in Education, with emphasis on Popular Education, working mainly in the following subjects: Non-School Education; Early Childhood Education, Youth and Adult Education, Popular University, Freirean Pedagogy, Training of Popular Educators and Social Educators, Social Movements, Educational Public Policies and History and Memory of Popular Education.
