Abstract

The study aims to evaluate the profile of antimicrobial susceptibility of isolates of assisted women in basic health units in the city of Caruaru, Pernambuco. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study and quantitative approach. The results of uroculture tests with antibiogram were analyzed in women from 18 to 35 years of age, from January to December 2019. The data were collected on the Pulse Saúde platform, interfaced with the municipal laboratory. There were 295 urocultures in users served at UBS Salgado I/II and São João da Escócia II, with an amount of 51 positive urocultures. 92.16% of isolates corresponded to enteric gram-negative bacilli, while 7.84% corresponded to gram-positive cocci. A good sensitivity to nitrofurantoin was visualized among gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms. Antimicrobials such as ciprofloxacin and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid have proven effective in most infectious agents of the urinary tract. The knowledge of the prevalence and frequency of infectious agents provides the optimization of treatment, thus reducing the appearance of new bacterial resistances. For this, it is necessary that epidemiological studies are carried out periodically, since data on the development of antibiotic resistance vary from time to time and region.
