Sarcopenia e complicações pós-operatórias em pacientes submetidos à gastrectomia por câncer gástrico: Revisão integrativa

Resumo

Objetiva-se investigar a influência da sarcopenia em complicações pós-operatórias nos pacientes submetidos à gastrectomia por câncer gástrico. Utilizaram-se as bases de dados PubMed, Cochrane, Science Direct e SciELO, com a estratégia de busca Sarcopenia and Stomach Neoplasms. A revisão integrativa foi estruturada com 15 artigos, publicados no período de 2015 a 2019. A análise dos dados foi realizada de forma descritiva. Doze estudos apontaram a sarcopenia como fator de risco para complicações pós-operatórias em pacientes submetidos à gastrectomia por câncer gástrico. A redução da massa muscular esquelética está associada à diminuição da ingestão ou da biodisponibilidade de nutrientes e alterações metabólicas, como elevada produção de moléculas pró-inflamatórias, resultando em enfraquecimento do sistema imune e má cicatrização pós-cirúrgica. Concluiu-se que a presença da sarcopenia nesses pacientes está relacionada com a maior ocorrência de complicações no pós-operatório.
