Abstract

The article aims to discuss the use of discourse as an element of mediation in the process of developing geographic reasoning. As a dimension that partially constitutes social relations and material practices, it becomes a fertile field of investigation in geography classes at school. This investigation can help both in the development of geographic thinking and in the objects and phenomena of interest in school geography. Therefore, we sought to discuss its possibilities based on the philosophy of language of the Circle of Mikhail Bakhtin and the Critical Discourse Analysis. At the end, it presents an analysis in character of illustration and deepening from a song in order to elucidate the perspectives adopted around a social problem.

Roberto , Universidade Estadual de Campinas

Professor da Universidade de Campinas (UNICAMP) desde 2012, onde ministra disciplina com conteúdo de Geografia física geral e a disciplina de Práticas de geociências na educação básica para estudantes de geografia e geologia. Orienta alunos de mestrado e doutorado nos programas de pós-graduação em Geografia, Ensino de Ciências e Matematica Multiunidade (PECIM) e Ensino e História de Ciência da Terra. Licenciado em Ciências Naturais (1997) e doutor pela escola de doutorado Ciência do Sistema Terra: ambiente, recursos e patrimônio cultural (2010), ambas cursadas na Universidade dos Estudos de Modena e Reggio Emilia (Unimore), Itália. De setembro de 2010 e março de 2012 trabalhou em Roma no Ministério da Educação. Interesses de pesquisa incluem os processos de ensino aprendizagem, e treinamento de professores relacionados com os conteúdos de Ciências da Terra assim como a educação ambiental e a divulgação das geociências. Está na coordenação da Olimpíada Brasileira de Geografia e Ciência da Terra. Desde 2018 é Chair da International Geoscience Education Organization (IGEO), membro do Conselho Executivo das Associação Internacional para a Promoção da Geoética (IAPG) e da Commission on Geoscience Education, Training and Technology Transfer (COGE) da International Union Geological Sciences (IUGS).
