Alphabetization and reading processes in hospital pedagogy: Contributions to the social development of hospitalized children

Abstract

The aim of this article is to investigate how literacy and literacy processes take place in non-school environments and how they enable sick children to socialize with the world around them.  To this end, this research will take a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory approach, based on documentary analysis of articles and theses published on the same subject. We highlight the importance of the role and recognition of the pedagogue in the hospital environment for the humanization of health and for the construction of a teaching and learning environment in this context. Considering that continuing to encourage children to connect with society through the processes of literacy and literacy is of paramount importance, as this will allow them to return (when possible) to school in a more natural way.
