CONCEPÇÕES REFERENTES À CIÊNCIA E AOS CIENTISTAS ENTRE ALUNOS DE ANOS INICIAIS E ALUNOS EM FORMAÇÃO DOCENTE

Este artigo relata a investigação das concepções sobre a Ciência e sobre cientistas. O grupo pesquisado foi composto de uma amostra de 73 alunos de anos iniciais e 120 alunos em formação docente, sendo 31 alunos oriundos do curso de Pedagogia e 89 alunos oriundos do curso Normal, do município de Cachoeira do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. A investigação buscou analisar desenhos que representassem a Ciência e o cientista. Verificou-se que para a maioria dos participantes, a realidade da Ciência e a concepção de cientista consistem num conjunto de ideias estereotipadas e distorcidas veiculadas pelos meios de comunicação social. Com base nestes resultados são apresentadas algumas implicações educativas para discussão nos anos iniciais.
