O RIO URUGUAI COMO TEMA PARA A EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL NO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL

O trabalho busca avaliar a utilização do rio Uruguai como tema para a promoção da educação ambiental e analisar uma estratégia pedagógica para a melhoria dos processos educacionais, em uma escola pública de Uruguaiana/RS. A pesquisa foi realizada em 2011 e apresentou a participação de 112 alunos concluintes do ensino fundamental. O trabalho foi dividido em três etapas: Diagnóstico das percepções dos estudantes sobre o rio; Aplicação de uma proposta de intervenção; e Avaliação final. O diagnóstico verificou que o tema rio Uruguai não é adequadamente trabalhado pela escola, especialmente pela disciplina de ciências, dado que os estudantes apresentavam percepções fragmentadas e/ou inadequadas. Durante as atividades de intervenção, percebemos o interesse dos estudantes para com as atividades propostas e uma relevante participação na análise e construção dos conhecimentos. Para a avaliação da proposta, contatou-se a ocorrência de mudanças nas percepções dos estudantes, caracterizado pelo incremento do conhecimento relacionado ao rio. Assim, o trabalho pode contribuir com futuras ações educacionais, estimulando o uso do rio Uruguai como temática para a educação ambiental e a estratégia pedagógica proposta pode constituir uma importante ferramenta para a melhoria dos processos educacionais, através da contextualização do conhecimento.Downloads
