Abstract

The racial relations in Nature Sciences are little studied. However its a área that can contribute for combat racism. We need understand how the biology teachig is influencied for historical constructs about racial relations. This is fundamental so that we can combat hierarchizations, stereotypes and negative representations for black people in Science teaching. The knowledge about history of Science, scientific racism and social representation, help us to interpret this phenomenon better. In this research we analyze biology textbooks and how human bodys was represent. We find few representations of black people in this material. The human body was represent, in the most times, for white body. This seems to be the universal human.

Marcelo Tadeu Motokane, Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciência e Letras de Ribeirão Preto - USP

Possui graduação em Biologia pela Universidade de São Paulo (1992), mestrado em Educação pela Universidade de São Paulo (2000) e doutorado em Educação pela Universidade de São Paulo (2005). Atualmente é Professor Associado do Departamento de Biologia da Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras da Universidade de São Paulo. Tem experiência na área de Educação, com ênfase em Ensino de Ciências (modalidade Biologia), atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: argumentação no ensino de ciências e biologia, linguagem e ensino de ciências, educação ambiental, formação de professores de ciências e biologia. Orientador do Programa de Pós-Graduação Interunidade de Ensino de Ciências (modalidade Biologia) e Programa de Pós-Graduação de Biologia Comparada, ambos da Universidade de São Paulo. Coordena o grupo de pesquisa LINCE (Linguagem e Ensino de Ciências) e o Laboratório de Ensino de Biologia (LEB) do departamento de biologia da FFCLRP
