Conceitos de Gene e Idéias Sobre Função Gênica em Livros Didáticos de Biologia Celular e Molecular do Ensino Superior

Embora seja um marco da Biologia do século 20, nossa compreensão típica dos conceitos de gene e de função gênica foi desafiada por uma série de descobertas. Debates recentes sobre o conceito de gene e função gênica têm implicações importantes para o ensino de Biologia e, portanto, torna-se necessário investigar se e como tais assuntos vêm sendo abordados neste contexto. Neste texto apresentamos resultados sobre a forma como genes e a função gênica são tratados em livros didáticos de Biologia Celular e Molecular do ensino superior. Nossos resultadosmostram que, apesar dos achados que desafiam idéias tradicionais sobre gene e função gênica, estas continuam a ser amplamente utilizadas em livros didáticos.
